⛑️ What should be in the first aid kit for cheerleading?

Safe, smart & quickly ready for training
Cheerleading is a real sport – stunts, tumbles, pyramids, and sometimes... little mishaps. 🙈 A twisted ankle, a scraped shin, or a bruised elbow – these things happen to even the strongest athletes.
That's why every team—or at least every group—should carry a well-stocked first aid kit . It doesn't have to be a huge first aid kit, but a few essentials can make a big difference in an emergency.
🎒 This belongs in every first aid kit at cheerleading training:
🩹 For minor injuries & wounds
-
Plasters in various sizes
-
blister plasters
-
Disinfectant spray or wipes (make sure they are suitable for skin)
-
Wound and healing ointment
- Cooling gel
-
Gauze bandages & compresses
-
Disposable gloves
❄️ For bruises, bumps & sprains
-
Ice packs (preferably instant cold compresses for on the go)
-
Elastic bandage (for light stabilization)
-
Sports tape or kinesiology tape
⚠️ For emergency or quick care
-
Scissors & Tweezers
-
triangular scarf
-
Tick card (if you train outdoors)
-
Emergency numbers (coaches, parents, paramedics)
-
Allergy information sheet (if someone in the team is affected)
🧠 Bonus: Little extras that are often worth their weight in gold
This could also be an extra competition bag.
-
Hair clips & spare hair ties (yes, seriously!)
-
Glucose for small moments of weakness
-
Wet wipes / hygiene gel
-
Mini mirror
-
Lip balm or sunscreen (outdoor training!)
📦 Packaging: practical & easy to find
It's best to pack everything in a small, sturdy bag or clear plastic box. Important:
-
She is always there , even during outdoor training.
-
Everyone on the team knows where they are .
-
It is checked regularly (including shelf life of creams) and refilled .
💡 Tip: Make a quick plan: Who's responsible for refilling? What's been used before? And what might still be missing? A note in the pouch is usually enough.
🏁 Conclusion: Safety first – so the fun doesn’t stop
Accidents can't always be avoided – but with a well-prepared first aid kit, you'll be quick, safe, and confident as a team. And that's exactly what makes a strong team: not just flying together, but also being there for each other when things go wrong.
Stay safe & cheer on! 💙📣
In our shop, you'll find three different colors of the "Ouch Pouch" – this allows coaches and teams to distinguish which bag belongs to which team within the club. This also makes it easier to assign liabilities for review.
